Hi, I’m Brittany. I am the co-founder of preservation house, a skincare, beauty and wellness brand with medical spas in Dallas and Austin. This is my second time on the blog, and I’m glad to be back!
I explained how I got to where I am without an MBA when Lauryn originally invited me to be on his blog (Actually, I dropped out of college, hehe). I’ve been building my business, House of Preservation, for seven years and there are still many more years to come, but we’re finally at a place where I can once again focus on things like fashion, which has always inspired my creativity.
Lauryn and I seem to share a passion for the finer things in life, but she also seems to appreciate a good find as much as I do. I think it’s important to know a brief version of my background, if you will, to enjoy this post.
When I started fashion blogging at the age of 20, my budget didn’t exactly allow for the designer stuff I coveted and it *never* mattered. I was inspired by classic pieces, good styling, vintage and consignment. It was about being advised. A decade later, with a larger budget to fuel my addiction, I still associate my bullion coins with $25 tanks.
Affordable fashion items that everyone should own:
♡ WHITE TANK:
A fundamental garment. A properly fitted, cropped and cut ribbed tank can be life changing in terms of how you use it. The classic way, of course, is: a tank top, jeans and a good jacket, but don’t stop there! I also wore it with a bohemian maxi skirt and under a corset. It’s just one of those pieces that you’re so happy to have when you need it to create a look.
I can personally attest to the quality of this Abercrombie tank top as someone who is willing to spend the most necessary. In fact, this is the article I posted on instagram stories which has sold the most so far.
♡ LBD:
The little black dress is the cuddly toy of the garment. I take comfort in the fact that it’s there, suspended and ready, just in case my Uber arrives in five minutes and I have nothing to wear.
Tip: order a size up even if the shape is snug and adapt it if necessary. Something with a texture or structure will effectively dress up and make it stylish with just the right amount of edge (my favorite combination).
♡ FOR LESS:
A core tube top is an ideal piece to wear under a blazer or fitted jacket that you can take off at your final destination. This is slightly off topic but worth noting: whenever my collarbone will be fully exposed, like with a top tube, I always add highlighter to the top of my shoulder and collarbone bones. It makes the light hit the right places and gives off a healthy glow.
Another important detail: this bra is the best and only strapless bra I’ve ever loved. A pair of sticky tits is also a necessity if you don’t already have one.
I hope my renewed enthusiasm for sharing my everyday outfits and fashion tips on @brittrix will provide outfit ideas for all budgets. Just because something is moderately priced doesn’t mean you have to compromise on its quality and appearance. Style it right, complete the glamor and do it with confidence. Sexy slut.
