The boys were out of town last weekend, and, lacking energy for the kids, I took my honor niece at the playground. She was a little giddy with the heat until I remembered the Cup of Jo reader’s A+ wisdom Chloe“My favorite parenting advice is, ‘If they’re grumpy, add water.’ Run a bath, take a shower, water the garden, wash the dog, drink a hot drink, drink a cold drink… just add water. at the fountain. For the rest of the hour, she screamed and splashed. “Go home!” I finally texted her parents. “FYI, she’s soaked.”
Later that day my friend Ryan and I headed for dinner and ordered a prosciutto entrée. The board came with a ball of Giardiniera, aka Pickled Vegetables. The combo was SO delicious, and what an easy way to make a pre-dinner snack for friends, right?
Also, would it be cool to decorate a bedroom with a pattern you like? My friend Holly shared these pics of Hotel Duc de Saint-Simon in Paris, and I love how the room is wrapped in flowers. Also that bow hook, fainted. (Stolen version here.)
Finally, I finally figured out my swimsuit look. In the past I have worn dresses like this, which I still love, but it’s very hit or miss, and throughout the day I prefer to be able to mix things up. SO! My new address: a white linen shirt And track shorts (also in grooves). Easy, cool, done and done.
