The FBI spied on two of then-GOP Rep. Devin Nunes’ staffers as they investigated the office for misconduct related to Spygate.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan sent FBI Director Christopher Wray a letter suggesting that the Bureau retaliated against two of Nunes’ staffers for House Intel’s surveillance of the FBI.
Recall that Nunes, who served as chairman of the House Intel Committee from January 2015 to January 2019, vigorously investigated Russiagate.
Nunes investigated the FBI’s role in Russiagate/Spygate and released a memo revealing that Hillary Clinton’s fake dossier was a vital part of obtaining FISA warrants to spy on Trump.
President Nunes damning 4-page FISA memo clearly pointed out that the FISA court was misled by then-FBI Director James Comey, Sally Yates, Rod Rosenstein and Andrew McCabe.
Jim Jordan said Thursday that in 2017, Google received subpoenas for private records and emails belonging to two Republican staffers of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) as the HPSCI investigated the misconduct of the FBI.
“These subpoenas were only revealed in 2022 due to Google’s policy of alerting customers five years after law enforcement took such action,” wrote Jim Jordan. “The timing of these subpoenas raises questions about whether the subpoenas were in retaliation for HPSCI’s surveillance of the FBI.”
The FBI has until July 27 to hand over all documents and communications referring to the seizure of Google’s email records.

Jim Jordan, who suggests the FBI seizure was “retaliation” for exposing FBI corruption. pic.twitter.com/xdsJWJnc9J
