Ireland squad named for U20 Rugby World Championship semi-final
The head coach richie murphy named their team Ireland U20 Match Day, sponsored by PwC, for sunday U20 Rugby World Championship semi-final against South Africa in Cape Town (kick-off 4:30 p.m. local time/3.30pm Irish time).
Gus McCarthy return to the starting XV as Ireland captain as Murphy’s side take on the host nation in a final four-legged tie at Athlone Stadium (live on virgin media two in the Republic of Ireland and on World Rugby platforms for viewers in the UK).
Henry Mc Erlean, Andrew Osborne And James Nicholson three form Ireland, with Hugh Gavin And John Devin named in midfield. In the half-backs, Sam Prendergast And Fintan Gunneback to the side to resume their partnership.
In the front, Paddy McCarthyskipper McCarthy and Ronan Foxe back to the peloton, with charlie irvinin partnership with Conor O’Tighearnaigh in the engine room. In the last row, Diarmuid Mangan is on the blind side, Ruadhan Quinn at the opening and Brian Gleeson wears shirt number eight.
