We need to see more parents having abortions in movies and on TV. “The majority of people who have abortions Already parents, but in TV and movies, it’s almost always someone young, white, and wealthy who tries to avoid parenthood. But it is a very small minority of people who have an abortion. It fails those of us who have abortions because it doesn’t allow audiences to stretch their imaginations, understand our fictional experiences, and learn anything outside of the same stereotypical narrative. In addition, three comments from readers:
Said Romi on how did you learn about sex growing up: “I learned about sex very, very early because I was a kid with QUESTIONS. When I was three years old, I kept asking my mom until I got the whole truth. I thought this sex thing must be pretty awesome if everyone alive was from it, so I started asking other kids if they knew their parents had sex. I told all my kindergarten friends about it. and my mom got calls. I don’t know when I finally relaxed, but it was THE topic of conversation for me for years.
Said Lisa on how did you learn about sex growing up: “This Dutch site is SO informative, and I highly recommend it as a sex education tool once you’ve covered the basics. It is factual and respectful. I showed it to my daughter when she was in college, and we bookmarked it on her laptop.
Said Tracy on how do you get along with your family“On my grandmother’s birthday, I called her and asked her about a year of her life. ‘Nanna, how was 13?’ I now have such rich and incredible stories that the rest of my family can’t believe because it didn’t occur to them to ask. Thirteen, by the way; the air raid sirens went off and the whole school was bussed out to the middle of nowhere. Their bicycles were also transported and at 3 p.m. their teachers excused the class and they all had to cycle 30 km through sandy brush to return home. Only Nanna pulled at the short straw and also had to put ‘spoiled brat Barbara West’ on her handlebars because she was ‘drove to school by her father IN A CAR’.
