Experienced South African batsman and captain of SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) Aiden Markram married his longtime girlfriend, Nicole, on Saturday July 22. The couple dated for more than 10 years before deciding to take their wedding vows.
Nicole confirmed the news of her marriage to Markram by taking to her Instagram account and sharing a photo of the two kissing with a caption that read:
“Mr. Madam.”
Ancient South African pacer Vernon Philander commented on the post and wished the couple.
“Congratulations guys. Many years of happiness and love your way. God bless you both,” he wrote.
Having made his international debut in 2017, Markram, a right-handed hitter and part-time off-spinner, has represented the Proteas in 35 Tests, 50 ODIs and 34 T20Is.
The 28-year-old scored 2285 in Tests with an average of 36.26, with six hundred and 10 fifty. In ODI it has 1440 runs, averaging 33.48, with one hundred and six half-centuries. Looking at his T20I numbers, he recorded 966 carries at a strike rate of 150.23, with nine fifty.
Markram had a forgettable 2023 IPL while leading SRH
markram led Sunrisers Eastern Cape to victory in the inaugural SA20 competition after which he was named Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain for IPL 2023 but failed to repeat the magic.
Under him, the team finished last in the 10-team competition. The Hyderabad franchise won just four and lost 10 of their 14 games to finish with a paltry eight points.
On an individual level as well, the aggressive hitter had a forgettable 2023 IPL season. He scored 248 points in 13 games with an average of 22.55 and a strike rate of 125.89. THE SSR skipper only managed half a century on the entire edition – a best of 50.
Overall, he played 33 IPL matches and scored 775 runs at an average of 32.29 and a strike rate of 131.36, with four half centuries and a best of 68*.
