The Manipal-based TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) started the academic year for the class of 2023-25 on June 30 and July 1. It hosted the 41st batch of MBA, the 10th batch of MBA – Banking and Financial Services (BKFS), the sixth batch of MBA – Human Resources (HRM), fifth batch of MBA – Marketing, and second batch of MBA – International Trade (IB). The 2023-2025 batch included 530 students across all programs.
Kurian Jose, Managing Director of TATA Pension Management Ltd, who was the main guest on the occasion, explained how to get the most out of the TAPMI experience. He shared the important skills and competencies that a recruiter looks for in potential candidates. He advised students on good money management and the importance of saving. José is a former student of the class of 1998-2000.
Shweta Paliwal, Assistant Vice President, JP Morgan Chase, who was the guest of honor, shared her experience and learnings during and after her time at TAPMI. She said that TAPMI can change lives and will become a path to design a great career and life. Paliwal is an alumnus of the 2010-12 batch.
Durga Prasad, Director-in-Charge of TAPMI, who hosted the gathering, described the legacy of founder TA Pai and highlighted several aspects of TAPMI that make it one of the best B schools in India.
Aniruddha Chatterjee, Admissions Chair, TAPMI, presented the profile of the batch to the inductees. The batch of over 500 with an average CAT/XAT score at 83.41 percentile has students from diverse educational backgrounds (66% non-engineers) with representation from 25 states and union territories of India. The percentage of female students is 40.
The first day of induction ended with faculty presentations by the respective Sector Chairs and the Parent Director logged in the evening.
