“What I always liked about Dhoni is that he kept things very simple” – Former Indian cricketer
Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer hailed Dhoni for not changing his humble nature despite his immense success.
Sharing his take on Dhoni’s personality, Jaffer told Sportskeeda:
“He was grounded and even after so much adulation and accomplishment in his career, he’s still grounded. It was the humility of man. He had a small goal and what I always liked about Dhoni is that he kept things very simple.
Jaffer added:
“He hasn’t changed his process over time. He stayed calm and even after accomplishing a lot as captain, I don’t think he changed his approach or changed his way of speaking or his way of looking at things, his outlook. And that’s the greatness of man, I feel it.
Born in Ranchi, Dhoni made his international debut in an ODI against Bangladesh at Chattogram in December 2004. He went on to establish himself as one of the world’s top finishers in limit-pass cricket.
As a leader, he is the only international cricket captain to have won all three ICC titles in white ball.
