Zavala, Andrew Vaughn and Zach Remillard each had three hits for Chicago, while the angels got three shots each from Shohei Ohtani and Brandon Drury
White socks Starter Lucas Giolito (6-5) picked up the win, pitching seven innings and allowing four runs and six hits. He struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter
Robert got the White socks started with his shot from 444 feet and two runs down the center in the first inning angels starter Jaime Barria, who could never find his rhythm
THE angels tied the game at 2-2 late in the first on back-to-back triples from Ohtani and Mike Trout and an RBI single from Drury
THE White socks continued their attack on Barria, Zavala’s first homer in the second inning giving him a 3-2 lead, then scored twice in the third. Jimenez started with a home run and Remillard added an RBI brace for a 5-2 cushion
Barria (2-3) finished after giving up five runs in three innings, but the White socks scored three more in the fourth on a goal-laden brace by Vaughn for an 8-2 lead
Zavala hit his second homer of the night on the fifth to put Chicago up to 9-2.
Trout was replaced in center field by Andrew Velazquez to start the seventh with the angels down 9-2. The hosts managed to close with solo homers from Drury and Hunter Renfroe in the seventh and an RBI single from Drury in the eighth, cutting the White socksleads to 9-5
But the White socks put the game aside in the ninth on Zavala’s two-run single
